Here's what's opening at Bier Markt's former King West location

It seems like only yesterday that Bier Markt was comfortably housed at the corner of King and Portland, but alas, times have changed.

The space at 600 King West hasn’t been empty long, and in the time since the bier hall shuttered, a new Mexican joint has popped up.

Calgary-import Añejo is gearing up to take over the large, lower-level establishment, serving up tacos and tequila to the King West strip.

While the restaurant’s Instagram account is still pretty barren, it states that the new spot is opening soon. And a peek at the Calgary location’s account has our mouths already watering.

If the menus are anything alike, you can expect tacos, nachos, burritos, and bowls, plus plenty of tequila, and “really good guacamole.”

Only time will tell what the exact options will be, but when it comes to tortillas and spicy fillings, it’s hard to go wrong.

And if you can’t wait until opening to get into the space, consider stopping by the eatery’s job fair.

Taking place on-site at 600 King West from December 16 to 20, from 10 am to 6 pm, this professional drop-by will offer the opportunity to peep the spot and potentially work with some tequila.
