A 96-year-old Brampton man has been arrested and charged with two counts of sexual assault, following two separate incidents at a store near Steeles Avenue and Highway 410.

According to Peel Regional Police, the suspect visited the store in September of 2018 and asked an employee, a 19-year-old Brampton woman, to assist him when he tried on a shirt.

The victim refused, police say, and the suspect sexually assaulted her. At the time, the incident was not reported to police.

On Tuesday, October 1, 2019, law enforcement says that the suspect attended the same store and asked a different employee for help with trying on a shirt. The victim, a 27-year-old Brampton woman, was assisting the suspect when he sexually assaulted her.

On Sunday, October 6, 2019, the 96-year-old man was arrested and charged, and released with a future court date.

Investigators are looking to speak to anyone with further information about this case. Those with information are asked to call investigators at the Special Victim’s Unit at (905) 453-2121, ext. 3460.
