What a $1 million Toronto home looks like compared to other cities

The average price of homes in the GTA may have just surpassed $1 million last month, but looking at Ontario as a whole, there are still many cities across the province where $1 million will get you an above-average home.

Unsurprisingly, in areas of Ontario that are closer to bigger cities like Toronto or Hamilton, you are going to get a more modest home for the $1 million price tag. But if you look at properties that are further out, like in Peterborough or London, you can find homes with six (yes, six) bedrooms and plenty of open space.

So in case you’re interested in exploring real estate options across the province, here is a sampling of homes that are currently listed in 10 cities across Ontario for around $1 million.
