South Park Bridge will be closed overnight this week

King County Road Services will close the South Park Bridge over the Duwamish Waterway on December 9 and 10.

A signed detour will direct travelers to the First Avenue South Bridge (State Route 509) when the bridge is closed.

The closure is due to overnight mechanical and electrical inspections from 10:30 pm until 6 am. These inspections take place every six years in order to maintain the safety and function of the bridge.
