Washington’s latest COVID-19 outbreak has been reported at the University of Washington (UW) where at least 117 Greek Life students have been infected with coronavirus.

The cluster of cases is spread among residents of 11 Greek houses north of the Seattle campus, and their close contacts.

Students in the Greek community who have coronavirus-like symptoms or who may have been exposed to someone with the virus are being instructed to isolate in their current place of residence and to get tested.

Inside university residences, only five positive cases have been identified out of 1,620 students tested.

In July, a separate outbreak of 154 positive cases in the Greek community was identified and contained over the course of about a month.
