Olympia Coffee has officially opened its flagship store in Seattle
It’s not easy for a local chain to become a household name, but Olympia Coffee is well on its way of accomplishing that goal. The coffee haven has opened its sixth cafe today, in Columbia City.
From Olympia WA, comes Olympia Coffee — the chain known for its award-winning brews and Certified B Corporation status. The shop focuses on offering quality coffee at prices that ensure fair working conditions for both in-store staff as well as bean farmers.

“Having strong direct trade partnerships allows unprecedented control over the flavors of a coffee. From varietal selection, to day lot separation, to experimental processing we have never had a greater ability to seek out and shape the flavors we want to experience in a coffee,” says the chain on their website.

The coffee shop has chosen to revamp the previous Starbucks location at 4824 Rainier Avenue, offering its bright and minimalistic take on the historic 1920s space.
Along with the coffeeshops signature coffees, expect a rotating list of snacks, pastries, sandwiches, and breakfast and lunch items from local shops. Those on the bill so far include Left Bank Pastries, Homegrown, as well as Umami Kushi.

The shop will also be the home to Olympia Coffee’s Barista Training Center, a spot that will not only train staff but also be a reservable private community room for local businesses, non-profits, and community groups to meet.
