The Seattle Design Festival is returning with a brand new theme for its 10th year

Jan 13 2020, 7:57 pm

Get ready to envision Seattle in a whole new way at the tenth annual Seattle Design Festival. From pitching a design to coming out for a talk, there are so many different ways to celebrate the impact of design on life in Seattle.

A block party at Lake Union Park on the weekend of August 15 will kick off the festival, taking place in various locations around Seattle from August 14 to 23.

Although this year’s event is still in its early stages, this year’s theme is set: About Time. Those interested in participating can use this prompt to come up with their early design ideas.

Those who come up with a brilliant idea for an installation or program will be able to propose the idea through the festival’s Call for Proposals, launching in February. What’s cool about this event is that just about anybody can pitch an idea; you don’t have to be a professional designer or someone working for a top design firm.

Although the festival is months away, those who’d like to go behind the scenes and volunteer can sign up on the volunteer page, or email [email protected] to be a fully dedicated Core Team member. Volunteers will be able to meet professionals, leaders, and students in the design world, and attend gatherings with passionate design professionals.
