A hot chocolate run is returning to Seattle this spring
To combine health with a little indulgence, one of Seattle’s sweetest 15k races, the Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k, is making a return to the city’s downtown core on Sunday, March 1, 2020.
Runners can choose between a 5k fun run or a 15k run that is more challenging but highlights the city’s biggest attractions.
Both race routes start at Mercer Street, with the hilly 15k route lining Aurora Avenue North all the way to Woodland Park. Racers will then turn around at the halfway mark, by Green Lake, and make their way back to Seattle Center.
All participants of the race are invited to the Hot Chocolate Expo, taking place on the Saturday before the race. At the Expo, racers will pick up their packets and bibs, as well as a hot chocolate goodie bag to commemorate their race experience. Each bag will contain a quarter-zip fleece-lined jacket, and of course, chocolate goodies.
The Expo will also be a showing of the hottest new running technologies, health and nutrition information, fitness apparel, and chocolate treats.

To make the end of the race even sweeter, participants of the 15k will receive a chocolate bar medal, while finishers of the 5k will be handed a medal in the shape of a mug of hot chocolate.
