What to eat in and around Seattle today: Marmite

Oct 5 2020, 11:47 pm

What began as a takeout spot in 2016 quickly blossomed into lunch and dinner destination Marmite.

The Chophouse Row spot serves up fancy-sounding dishes at modest price points.

Those dining for lunch can expect to spend $4 to $6 on soup, and up to $16 for a main. At dinner time, enjoy mains priced from $16 to $42.

Marmite’s entire menu is jaw-droppingly beautiful. Whether you’re going for a soup and salad or a big plate, you won’t be left without an Instagrammable plate.

For salads, we recommend the salade de canard confit. For lunch, the fried rabbit legs and omelette forestière take the cake.

For dinner, we recommend the blintzes, grilled asparagus, and coquilles St Jaques — grilled scallops, lemon verbana beurre blanc, and fensi sauteed with sea beans, toasted hazelnuts, and shiso in a yuzu and chive sesame oil.
