What to eat in and around Seattle today: Hello Robin Cookies

Sep 22 2020, 8:35 pm

Homemade cookies are good, but Hello Robin cookies are better.

If you don’t agree, you’ve not had the fresh cookies from Robin Wehl Martin herself.

Martin had won Best Classic Whoopie Pie two years running at the Oddfellows Whoopie Pie Bake-off as well as top honors for “Overall Awesomeness” at the City Arts Pie Life competition and first place at the Crossroads Farmer’s Market bake off. She also gained the attention of Molly — yes, the Molly of Molly Moon’s — who practically forced Martin to open her first bakery to create perfect ice cream sandwiches.

Now, Hello Robin features about a dozen cookies each day, including seasonal rotations and family favorites.

If you’ve never had a Hello Robin cookie, you need to try Mackles’more. The cookie combines a graham cracker, a s’more cookie and a Theo chocolate chunk. The cookie is also available in a cookie cake form.

This month’s current seasonal flavor is the Snack Attack, filled with potato chips, dark chocolate, brown butter, sea salt, and topped with a pretzel.

In addition to basic staples such as classic chocolate chip, brown butter snickerdoodle and oatmeal chocolate chip with tart cherry, there’s also orange habanero chocolate chip, salted butterscotch, flourless chocolate, and other varieties including gluten-free and vegan options.

Don’t forget to ask for ice cream in between your cookie — the shop has over 2,000 possible ice cream sandwich combinations. Molly Moon’s to-go pints are also available to take home.
