Bill Nye explains the importance of wearing a mask in new TikTok video
Bill Nye has uploaded two videos on his TikTok explaining the need for the public to wear masks.
Nye launched his channel just a few months ago, and while it has remained relatively silent since its creation, it recently skyrocketed to nearly 2 million followers.
On Wednesday, the former educational television host and face of Bill Nye Saves the World on Netflix took to TikTok to convey the importance of wearing a mask or face covering.

The videos show Nye using different types of face coverings while attempting to blow out a candle. This displays the simple effectiveness of masks in regards to air expelled from one’s mouth.
Nye says, “The reason we want you to wear a mask is to protect you, but the main reason we want you to wear a mask is to protect me, from you, and the particles from your respiratory system from getting into my respiratory system.”

“This is a matter, literally, of life and death,” adds Nye.
