Hawaii will be much closer than the typical flight from Portland, as an exciting cultural event, set to take place in February 2020 at Portland Community College, will bring the beauty and culture of Hawaii directly to you.
The 14th annual event, called Ho’ike, is a fundraiser sponsored by the KIAKO Foundation, which is a non-profit organization that seeks to foster and cultivate Hawaiian arts, language, and heritage in the Pacific Northwest.
The evening starts with a family style dining experience which includes delicious local food, followed by a silent auction. The event will end with live music and mesmerizing Polynesian dancing featured by Hula HÄlau āOhana Holoāokoāa.
Dinner includes kahlua pork with cabbage, shoyu Chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, vegetarian yakisoba stir fry, sticky rice, Hawaiian mac salad, fruit salad with mango, and pineapple and haupia cake. Punch, regular coffee, and water will also be available alongside dinner.
