Winter is the season of soup! And soup is certainly no laughing matter. Portland’s Winter Soup Fest is a testament to just how seriously some people take soup.

Hosted at Portland Mercado, a beautiful open venue offering Latin America grub from multiple vendors, the Winter Soup festival will feature a mouthwatering selection of Latino-American soups.

The two day festival will take place from January 24 to 25, from 5 pm to 7:30 pm on friday, and 12 pm to 7:30 pm on Saturday. Attendees can expect to sample the following array of delicious soups:

Tortilla Soup – Fernando’s Alegria
Asopado de Mariscos – QueBola
Sopa de Hongos – Xocotl,
Oxacan Pozole – Tierra del Sol Cuisine
Sancocho cruzado de res y pollo – La Arepa,
Ajiaco – Que Bacano, Sabor Colombiano
Pepian de Pollo, Caldo de Res – Kaah Market
Menestrón Peruano – Rocoto Peruvian Kitchen
Kongo Pea Soup, Beef Stew – Mathilde’s Kitchen- Haitian Cuisine
