A Portland distillery wants to teach you how whiskey is made this season

If you love whiskey, then Westward Whisky Distillery has the perfect workshop for you in March this year.

The event, Whiskey 101, is an inside look into the world of whiskey. Attendees will be given the opportunity to sample a variety of whiskies, in addition to learning about the aging process, barrel selection, and other factors that alter the final flavor of the drink.

This deep dive class also showcases the whiskey-making process, including touring the beer house and distillery, tasting beer wash, white dog, and the final whiskey. You will be guided from the very beginning of the process to the very end, and you’ll have the opportunity to see first-hand how grain is turned into delicious American single-malt Whiskey.
