There’s no better time and place to be vegan or vegetarian than in Rose City. And it seems like the activists at PETA agree, as the organization just named Portland as one of the most vegan-friendly cities in the US.

The ranking featured 10 cities across the US that were deemed to be the most vegan-friendly cities in the country. Portland came in fourth, beating out Detroit, Orlando, Dallas, Nashville, Washington, and Tulsa.

The top spot went to San Francisco, with Los Angeles and New York City taking second and third respectively.

We’re hardly surprised though, from Back to Eden to Homegrown Smoker, and everything in between, Portland takes the (dairy-free) cake when it comes to coming up with the most innovative and delicious food offerings from cuisines and cooking styles around the world.

Check out these incredible vegetarian restaurants in PDX that will have even a carnivore’s mouth watering. Or check out these equally incredible Indian restaurants that serve amazing vegetarian options.

Here are some of the best IG vegan food porn shots from Portlanders — you’re welcome.
