The Oregon Health Authority confirmed 1,079 new known cases of COVID-19 over the course of the weekend along with 16 additional virus-related deaths.

Last week saw the largest increase in coronavirus cases week-over-week, including updates on 75 currently active workplace outbreaks throughout the state.

At the time of writing, the total number of known cases in Oregon sits at 45,429 with 691 total deaths.

“Oregon’s 691st COVID-19 death is a 90-year-old woman in Washington County who tested positive on Oct. 8 and died on Oct. 31 at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. She had underlying conditions,” reads the OHA update.

OHA published updated face-covering guidance last week that requires people to consistently wear face coverings while indoors at their workplace or all other places where they will be in contact with people from outside their household.
