5 places to donate your gently used clothes in Portland

Portland’s organizations and donation spots are vital to many members of our community. Give back this holiday season by donating your gently used items to any of these five spots.

A shelter for women, children, and gender-fluid folks experiencing poverty and abuse, Rose Haven accepts clothing donations on Monday and Thursday afternoons between 1 to 4 pm, or by appointment. Call in advance if you’re donating large amounts of clothing.

Portland Rescue Mission

Donations to Portland Rescue Mission are what keep the charity running, and help them continue to support men, women, and children looking for a way to overcome addiction and homelessness. They accept clothes, blankets, new undergarments, socks, gloves, and hats.

William Temple House accepts new and gently used clothing, along with furniture and housewares. All of the proceeds from these donations help the organization to support the community in the form of emergency assistance and mental health counseling. Children’s items are not accepted nor are clothing with holes, tears, or stains.
