Seven deaths, 31 new cases of coronavirus reported in Oregon

On Tuesday, the Oregon Health Authority confirmed 31 new known cases of COVID-19, with seven new fatalities.

At the time of writing, the number of known cases in Oregon sits at 2,385, with 99 fatalities.

According to Oregon Health Authority, the new cases reported are in the following counties: Clackamas (1), Coos (1), Harney (1), Klamath (1), Linn (2), Marion (9), Morrow (1), Multnomah (13), Umatilla (1), Wasco (1), and Yamhill (1).

“Oregon’s 99th COVID-19 death is a 91-year-old man in Yamhill County, who tested positive on April 25 and died on April 26 at Providence Newberg Medical Center. He had underlying medical conditions,” reads the OHA update.

While the current situation in Oregon will shift and grow, the OHA is providing daily updates on the impacts in the state.

“With the recent news that federal authorities recommend wearing masks in public, Oregon Health Authority is reminding Oregonians that staying home and avoiding all non-essential contact with others continues to be the most important thing all of us can do to stay healthy and keep others healthy,” writes the OHA.

After an executive order was passed down by Governor Kate Brown, the state has barred all non-essential trips from home.
