The initiative, entitled Live From Aus, will begin on Friday, May 15, with a one-hour broadcast on The Project on Network Ten in Australia. However, international audiences can tune into the programming on Tourism Australia’s Facebook and Youtube pages.

The initiative will feature some of Australia’s most popular travel and entertainment personalities to provide insight into the various offers.

“For the entire weekend of May 16 and 17, Tourism Australia will be going live with exclusive travel experiences, broadcasting on the hour, every hour, to a potential audience of more than 13 million from across Australia and around the world,” the official press release states.

Viewers of all ages can tune in to such activities as a dance party with famous children’s entertainment group, The Wiggles; epic workouts from the fitness team who trained Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, in the scenic Byron Bay; experience crocodiles up close and personal with the Outback Wrangler Matt Wright; and more.

Through these immersive experiences, users can delve deeper into the distinctive wildlife, diverse terrain, and food and drink of Australia while also learning of its rich Indigenous heritage.

Additionally, the initiative feeds into Tourism Australia’s overarching With Love from Aus campaign, which it has been implementing across its various social media channels over the past month.

“Even though demand for travel is currently on hold and the timing of the recovery is still uncertain, it’s important that we don’t go quiet as a destination.” Managing Director of Tourism Australia Phillipa Harrison said in the release. “While people can’t travel right now, they can certainly dream and plan for those holidays to come.”

Harrison continues that the With Love From Aus campaign allows Australia’s tourism industry companies and experience and service providers to maintain their relationships with those who love travel while providing them with motivation and incentives for future trips once travel is permitted and borders open once again.

Live from Aus will be hosted by a variety of Australian personalities and operators within the travel industry who will inform, entertain, and motivate users with a plethora of interactive activities and experiences, such as virtual workouts, cooking classes, wildlife experiences, and live music.
