The date for Montreal's St. Patrick's Day Parade has been revealed

Feb 25 2020, 8:21 pm

Downtown’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a celebration of Irish heritage and a pretty decent reason to drink in the streets.

St. Patrick’s Day itself falls on Tuesday, March 17 this year but the annual parade will take place on Sunday, March 22.

The United Irish Societies of Montreal, the organization behind the giant street party, announced that the 197th edition of the city’s parade will take place along its usual route on Ste. Catherine from noon to 2:30 pm.

Montreal’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade is the oldest of its kind in Canada, having taken place every year in the city since 1824.

The parade is slated to start on the corner of Fort and Ste. Catherine and will travel a 1.3 km route before ending on Metcalfe and St. Cat.

Expect plenty of green, booze, music, dancing, and ample post-parade partying opportunities throughout the city.
