The SAQ is now offering alcohol home delivery

Apr 7 2020, 1:30 pm

In an effort to limit the spread of the virus, SAQ stores around the province are now delivering alcohol right to your door.

The Crown corporation has teamed up with Purolator for home delivery, which will take approximately 10 business days.

Home delivery fees of $12 will be added to your order, all of which will be donated to Food Banks of Quebec, according to the SAQ’s website.

When ordering for delivery, clients will receive a confirmation email that contains the tracking number for their booze. They can then follow its progress directly on the Purolator websiteĀ and plan their drinking accordingly.

It’ll essentially be like the adult version of tracking Santa Claus.

According to the SAQ, Purolator deliverers will make two attempts at the given address. If clients are not home on the third try, Purolator will leave a Delivery Notice card to determine a new drop-off date or customers can opt to pick up the package at the nearest SAQ location.

While assuring customers about product safety, the SAQ says “our employees who receive, prepare, and assemble your orders at our warehouse respect the new sanitary standards. In addition, Purolator ensures that its employees also follow the hygiene and protection measures recommended by Health Canada.”

The company says there is, therefore “little risk” of catching the virus by being in contact with a package.

SAQ products can be found on the company’s website.
