This restaurant near Montreal serves a 25-pound poutine

The poutine originated in Quebec, so it’s only fitting that a massive serving of french fries, cheese curds and gravy would be served here.

Speaking of fitting, your pants might not, after trying Restaurant Barcelos’ 25 pound Mega Poutine.

The restaurant claims that every Mega Poutine has 13.5 lbs of fries, 5.5 lbs of cheese and 6 lbs of gravy and add-ons.

The traditional, yet enormous, Quebec dish sells for $175 and serves 14 to 16 people, because nothing brings Quebeckers together like sharing a marathon platter of poutine.

For the non-traditionalists, Restaurant Barcelos serves the dish in 5 different varieties:

  • La Belle Québécoise (traditional)

  • La Portugaise (chorizo)

  • L’amateur de poulet (chicken)

  • La Fameuse Barcelos (chicken and chorizo)

  • Le Mont-St-Hilaire (chicken, chorizo, marinated pork)

You know what they say, go big or go home. Or in Restaurant Barcelos’ case, go big and then go home to nap.
