The Red Bull Music Academy was in town this weekend and was packed with talented musicians and a four-day line-up filled with groundbreaking artists.
The weekend kicked off with an exploration of extreme music, navigating through dimensions of noise, drone, industrial techno and underground mental.
Night two was all about Moonshine, a two-room event featuring local residents Pierre Kwenders, Bonbon Kojak, M. Bootyspoon, and Odile Myrtil. They were joined by Toronto’s selector Bambii, Portugal’s DJ Marfox and New York’s TYGAPAW, Le1f and Total Freedom.
On night three, Red Bull Music Academy and Never Apart joined forces once again for a 13-hour, 2-stage marathon of thought-provoking and eminently danceable house and techno.
The festival wrapped up with a special performance from R&B group Rhye. Rhye took the stage for an intimate performance at one of Montréal’s most historic venues, The National.
