Quebec reports over 600 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours

Quebec public health has announced 637 new coronavirus cases in their daily update on Friday morning, surpassing 70,000 cases in the province.

According to Santé Quebec, there are now 70,307 cases in the region, 199 hospitalizations, and 33 patients in the ICU.

This is the second day in a row that Quebec has reported more than 550 coronavirus cases.

There have been no new reported deaths in the last 24 hours, but four deaths between September 18 and September 23 have been added to the total, now at 5,814.

As of September 24, 1,378,483 tests have turned up negative throughout Quebec.

Public health continues to advise people to frequently wash their hands, use alcohol-based sanitizers, wear face masks in public, and respect the maximum 10-person limit for indoor gatherings.

In line with Quebec’s health and safety protocols, for people aged 10 and over, wearing a face-covering is mandatory in most enclosed and partially enclosed public places, as well as on public transit, according to Santé Quebec.
