Quebec reports under 750 new cases, 2 deaths over past day

Quebec public health is reporting under 750 new cases and two deaths over the past day.

Since Tuesday, the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux has added 729 COVID-19 cases, increasing the total provincial tally to 289,670.

Public health has also added 19 new deaths to the provincial total, two from Tuesday, eight between February 24 and March 1, and eight from earlier in February.

The number of hospitalizations has decreased by 160 from Tuesday, for a cumulative total of 618 across Quebec. Among these, the number of people in intensive care also decreased by one for a total of 120.

Since Tuesday morning, 16,117 doses of vaccine were administered for a total of 472,710 across the province.

There are now 271,908 recoveries, 10,426 deaths, and 2,775,185 negative tests.

Quebec premier François Legault is expected to make an announcement on Wednesday evening concerning the province’s COVID-19 restrictions.

Canada’s COVID-19 death toll is now 22,045, along with 872,747 total cases.
