Over 1,000 new coronavirus cases detected in Quebec

Quebec announced a total of 1,079 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday as cases continue to spike.

The announcement comes shortly after Saturday’s record-breaking case count, during which 1,107 new cases were discovered — the highest number of new coronavirus cases detected in a single day

Two new deaths were also announced on Sunday, bringing Quebec’s death toll from the virus to 5,878.

Additionally, eight more people were admitted into the hospital, bringing the total number of hospitalized cases to 334. Of these individuals, 64 of them are in ICU.

Quebec has seen 78,459 coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic, the most of any Canadian province.
