Quebec reports over 175 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours

The Quebec government revealed that the province’s COVID-19 death toll has remained at 5,670 after announcing no new deaths since Tuesday morning.

COVID-19 cases in the province did increase by 176 in the past 24 hours.

According to Santé Quebec, there are now 59,073 cases in the province, 190 hospitalizations, and nine patients in the ICU.

Currently, a reported 743,217 tests have turned up negative throughout Quebec, and over 30,000 cases have been resolved.

The new data had been reported by hospitals and public health officials as of Tuesday, July 28, at 6 pm.

This is Quebec’s second consecutive day of over 165 new cases, having announced 169 on Tuesday and 176 on Wednesday.

Santé Quebec says that despite the newly announced cases, hospitalizations continue to drop.

Canada’s coronavirus death toll now totals 8,912.
