Quebec reports over 200 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours

Quebec public health has announced 219 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, the province’s third consecutive day of 180 cases and higher and the ninth straight day of over 160 cases.

According to Santé Quebec, the province’s coronavirus death toll has increased to 5,774 with one new COVID-19-related deaths being announced since Thursday morning.

There are now 64,463 cases in the province, 123 hospitalizations, and 12 patients in the ICU.

Currently, a reported 1,160,874 tests have turned up negative throughout Quebec, and over 56,000 cases have been resolved.

The new data had been reported by hospitals and public health officials as of Thursday, September 10, at 6 pm.

Public health continues to advise people to frequently wash their hands, use alcohol-based sanitizers, wear face masks in public, and respect the maximum 10-person limit for indoor gatherings.

Canada’s coronavirus death toll now totals 9,163.
