Quebec reports over 1,000 new coronavirus cases for 6th consecutive day

Quebec health officials have added over 1,000 new COVID-19 cases for the sixth consecutive day.

On Sunday, Santé Quebec reported the province’s highest daily case increase since the pandemic began.

On Monday, the province added 15 new virus-related deaths and 1,169 cases to Quebec’s total.

Of the newly added deaths, five occurred over the past day, nine occurred between November 2 and 7, and one occurred from an “unknown date,” as per Santé Quebec.

Total coronavirus cases in the province have now reached 115,989 along with 6,455 deaths

Public health is reporting 1,866,456 negative tests and 540 hospitalizations — 76 of which are in intensive care. Hospitalizations and patients in intensive care have both increased over the past day.

According to Sante Québec, over 95,000 cases have been deemed as “recoveries.”

The new data has been reported by hospitals and public health officials as of Sunday, November 8, at 6 pm.

“For now, the spread of the COVID-19 is under control in Quebec,” says public health, “but the present weeks are critical.”

Public health continues to advise people to frequently wash their hands, use alcohol-based sanitizers, wear face masks in public, and respect the maximum 10-person limit for indoor gatherings.
