Camp out in these urban tents along the Lachine Canal all summer
For all those campers hoping to take a metro to the site, your time has come.
The popular chalet-type tents that are found the woods in Northern Quebec have made their way to Montreal, right smack in the middle of Montreal, in fact.
oTENTik has set up 7 urban tents along the banks of the historic Lachine Canal giving Montrealers and tourists the opportunity to camp out in the city.

Each unit comes equipped with a double mattress and four singles, a table and storage cabinet with all necessary cooking equipment, a rechargeable LED lantern, four camping chairs, a BBQ and a USB port charging station.
There is no electricity, plumbing or running water in the units.
Washrooms, showers, an outdoor sink, ice and picnic tables and are accessible at an outdoor common area.
It’s essentially all the great things about camping without having to swear at yourself while setting up the site.
Plus, you swap the chance bear encounter for squirrels, good trade.
The campground is located on an isolated bit of land, surrounded by greenery in front of the Clipper Ship Supply building along the Lachine Canal. You get the secluded part of camping fused with the Old Port’s proximity.
The campsite is open rain or shine, reservations can be made online at the Lachine Canal National Historic Site website.
