A video of a London, Ontario, officer helping out a woman during the recent cold snap has gone viral.

The video was first shared on January 27, and shows a woman being assisted with her groceries. The police officer takes her groceries and places it in the trunk, as the woman gets into his vehicle.

“Kudos to this @lpsmediaoffice officer, who saw this woman walking on the street with her groceries – because the sidewalk was full of snow – with the temperature at -10 C and decided to give her a ride home,” tweeted the poster of the video.

She later explained that it easily felt like -15/-18 at the time, “but the temperature is not the point here. If more people did at least a good deed a day we would live in a better world. Probably not in a world where people complain about every little thing too.”

Her video didn’t go unnoticed by London Police.

“This is just one example of a police officer going above and beyond to help others. Things like this happen each and every day by officers and citizens everywhere,” they said.

The video has been seen almost 80,000 times to date.

Deputy Daryl Longworth thanked Daniela – the original poster – for sharing the video.

“This officer certainly went above and beyond,” he said. “Truth is our officers are out there doing similar acts of service every day, most of which go unnoticed. Thank you for noticing.”

And now, a lot of others have also noticed too.
