Old Montreal is about to add a new hotel to its timeless reputation.

Located in the heart of Montreal (340 Rue De La Gauchetière Ouest), the Humaniti Hotel Montreal, part of the Autograph Collection, is set to open in June 2021.

Blocks from the Square Victoria and Place d’Armes metro stations, the Humaniti Hotel will be the first Autograph Collection property in Quebec — a group of independent luxury hotels within the Marriott International portfolio.

According to a press release shared with Daily Hive, the hotel is already a “standout development” thanks to its “audacious H-shaped architecture” that rises 39 stories above the city. The European-inspired hotel will be complete with 193 rooms and is already nominated as a finalist for Best Futura Project – dedicated to projects that provide a glimpse into the future through distinct architectural and environmental qualities.

“Our prized location, in the heart of Montreal, allows visitors to easily experience the city’s diverse neighbourhoods, and absorb its culture,” says Mathieu Larochelle, Humaniti Hotel’s General Manager. “We will have some of the most exciting new experiences at your fingertips, including an exceptional food and drink program by local, award-winning artisans, sublime spa treatments, and a remarkable rooftop pool. The human-scale of our approach aims to set a new standard of hospitality here.”

Humaniti Hotel’s flagship restaurant, h3, is being created by Executive Chef Jean-Sébastien Giguère and will celebrate Quebec’s “famed culinary culture,” says the press release. h3 will consists of over 3,000 bottles of wine under the supervision of Sommelier Hugo Duchesne, crowned Best Sommelier of Quebec 2020.

The property will also feature a natural, urban-concept grocery store, a French bakery on-site, a courtyard terrace, gym, sauna, and scenic rooftop pool.

“Each room and suite is designed as a light-filled sanctuary ranging in size from the 334 square foot ‘HOP’ room to the sprawling 1,200 square foot, fully appointed ‘HERO’ suite,” continued the press release. “Comfortable, sophisticated, and stylish, the four styles of guest rooms and three styles of suites feature king or two queen bed configurations, massive floor-to-ceiling windows, natural hardwood floors, and premium hardwood furnishings crafted locally.”

Humaniti Hotel shared renderings with Daily Hive on how the completed project is expected to look.
