The Weather Network: Montreal is in for a lot of snow this winter

A few months ago we told you Montreal was going to have a cold and snowy winter.

And, after speaking with Meteorologist Dayna Vettese at The Weather Network, we still feel pretty good about that prediction.

Simply put, this winter isn’t going to be anything like last winter.

‘Normal’ winter daytime temperatures in Montreal are usually somewhere between -3°C and -5°C, which means it will seem even colder this year as last winter we sat at a sweaty 4°C above normal temperatures.

Of course, you might have already noticed that it snowed in Montreal. (It was a little hard to miss.) Well, don’t expect that trend to stop anytime soon. According to Vettese, Montreal’s average annual snowfall sits around 150cm – last year was just 130cm – and she expects that the city will more than likely be breaking that average mark this year.

Essentially, because last year was tame, this year is going to feel like a monster.

The good news? It’s going to be an amazing ski season in Quebec. That, and right now the probability of Montreal having a white Christmas is sitting at 80 percent.

All in all, if you love winter, this one’s definitely for you.
