The dangerous heat wave that resulted in 33 deaths across the province subsided a bit this weekend, but temperatures are expected to remain steadily hot to start the week and could get scary high again by the end of this weekend.

The Weather Network’s 7-day forecast expects humidex values to reach the high 30s by Saturday and Sunday, leaving it feeling like 41°C by next Monday.

Nighttime temperatures are slated to drop to more comfortables temperatures, but the extended daytime heat can still be dangerous.

Public Health officials still encourage citizens to cool down in the shade, drink plenty of water and check on neighbours, especially those who are vulnerable and often isolated.
