This afternoon’s thunderstorm has hit Montreal hard as high winds and heavy rains have caused power outages in several areas.
A severe thunderstorm watch was issued for Montreal and surrounding areas earlier today.

- Laval area
- Montréal Island area
- Longueuil – Varennes area

Over 45,000 Hydro-Quebec customers have been left without power. The company says its teams are on standby and are ready to intervene as soon as power outages are happening.
