Environment Canada issues special weather statement for Montreal

If you thought things were going to cool down this week, think again.

The hot weather is going to continue and Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement about the high temperatures.

The weather warning is in effect for:

  • Châteauguay – La Prairie area
  • Laval area
  • Longueuil – Varennes area
  • Montréal Island area

According to Environment Canada, the unusually hot and humid conditions will continue over Southwestern and Central Quebec through Wednesday with highs near 30°C and humidex values between 35 and 39 °C.

“Temperatures will therefore soar well above seasonal values of 15 to 18 degrees during the day and 5 to 9 degrees during the night for these areas. Is it once again expected that records will be established in some localities,” said the weather agency in a statement.

Temperatures are expected to return to seasonal values on Thursday.
