Snowvember has arrived in full force.
With the province’s mandated winter tire date still a month away, the City of Montreal is urging its commuters to use public transportation.

The required date for winter tires in Quebec is December 15, but since Mother Nature decided to throw winter down on us early drivers may not yet be ready for her icy, sliding, roads.
The snowfall is expected to continue to fall throughout Friday. The temperatures will rise slightly in the afternoon with more flurries expected at around midnight.
Areas east of Montreal could see up to 30 centimetres of snow in total.
Environment Canada has also warned about the potential impact the snow could have on drivers’ commutes and the City of Montreal is asking drivers without winter tires to only drive if absolutely necessary.
Montreal has deployed 1,000 snow removal vehicles to deal with the fast-arriving winter.
