Montreal has announced the reopening of a few sports and leisure activities as well as some good news for our four-legged friends.

Starting on Thursday, skateparks, pétanque courts, and outdoor athletic tracks will open throughout Montreal for individual use.

Additionally, dog parks will reopen throughout the island, effective as of Friday and golf courses will tee off on Saturday, May 23.

“With the arrival of warmer weather, parks and green spaces provide oases and are open to the population,” reads the City of Montreal’s statement. “Beginning on May 23, people will be able to access Île Notre-Dame, except for the parking lot which will remain closed. On that same date, access to Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve and Parc Jean-Drapeau will also be permitted.”

Montreal says access to playgrounds and outdoor facilities for children will remain closed “until further notice.” Playing fields that host team sports are also still prohibited.
