Montreal police arrest 3 in drug bust linked to fentanyl raids

Montreal police have arrested three people in connection with a drug operation linked to deadly fentanyl overdoses in August and September.

Officers arrested Alain Joly, 35, Kevin Charbonneau, 28, and Stéphanie Hamel, 26, in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighbourhood on September 29.

“They face charges of heroin trafficking and possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. A woman is still sought in connection with this file,” said Montreal Police in a release.

Police conducted two searches during the raids and seized 9 grams of heroin, 24 grams of a substance that could be fentanyl, 13 grams of cocaine and 1739 grams of an unknown white powder on the scene.
