Montreal's metros will be open all night on New Year's Eve

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is going to make sure you get home safely on the first day of 2019, regardless of what time that may be as the metros will pull an all-nighter with you.

“To facilitate your celebrations and ring in the New Year with you, the métro will run all night on December 31 (current fares apply),” reads the STM website.

The transit network urges riders to purchase fares in advance and to purchase the Unlimted Evening pass ($5.25) for people who plan on making several trips across the city, to soak in the New Year with as many friends and family members as possible.

Along with the New Year’s Ever-lasting metro, the 777 shuttle will continue to run between Station Jean Drapeau and the Montreal Casino all night as well, in case you’re feeling lucky to kick off the new year.

Meanwhile, the buses will be running on a regular Monday schedule.
