Montrealers withstand the cold to line up for Schwartz's epic deal (PHOTOS)

Schwartz’s, arguably Montreal’s most iconic restaurant, isn’t a stranger to hosting massive lineups.

On Tuesday, the well-known delicatessen turned back the clock on a special price deal, offering a smoked-meat sandwich, fries and a Coke for just $1.09! And guess what? There was a lineup.

The deal was a celebration of Schwartz’s 90th anniversary and reflected the restaurant’s prices from 1928, the year the deli first opened.

Even through cold and snow, Montrealers proved that nothing can stop them from getting their hands on a tasty smoked-meat sandwich, especially for less than a toonie.

The only Montreal eateries that are older than Schwartz’s are the Montreal Pool Room, founded in 1912, and the Old Port’s L’Auberge Saint-Gabriel which started in 1754.

Given Schwartz’s popularity and constant line-ups, don’t expect it go anywhere any time soon.

With that said, here are photos from Tuesday’s smoked-meat adventure deal.
