On Wednesday morning, various gas stations around Montreal posted prices for regular unleaded gasoline as high as $1.509 per litre according to GasBuddy.com.

That’s a $0.15 increase from prices earlier in the week which were reported at $1.359/L.

At $1.509 per litre, motorists might be best suited to hunt for cheaper prices. Some gas pumps are offering gas for as low as $1.314 per litre located in areas off highway; including Saint-Laurent, Outremont and Côte-des-Neiges.

The highest prices ever recorded in Montreal was in June 2014 when pumps hit $1.530 a litre.

GasBuddy.com predicts the current average gas prices for Montreal is hovering at $1.412/L.

It might be time to test out those Bixi Bikes until prices (hopefully) cool down by the weekend.
