There's still one area near Montreal to see peak fall foliage

Okay don’t panic, but winter is steadily creeping closer and the fall foliage of October is slowly slipping away.

But, there is still one spot close to the Montreal metropolitan area where the fall foliage is still in bloom with beautiful hues of orange, red, and yellow.

According to Quebec’s Tourism website, Bonjour Québec, the only spot around Montreal where the fall foliage hasn’t passed its peak is at the Centre de la nature in Laval, which is currently “near peak.”

Every autumn, Bonjour Québec highlights which areas across the province are peaking when it comes to fall foliage. As we set our sights towards November’s first weekend, the interactive map shows that most of the Montreal metro area is no longer peaking, even up in the Laurentians.

Luckily for Montrealers, the Centre de la nature is a mere 20 kilometres out of downtown, meaning you can soak up some fall foliage one last time before Mother Nature sends in wintertime.

Bonjour Québec

The Centre de la nature park is open every day from 8 am to 10 pm and features 50 hectares of greenery and animals.

What’s equally encouraging, the weather is expected to hover near double-digit temperatures this weekend in Laval, with highs expected to reach 10ºC on Sunday (and 9ºC on Saturday).

If you end up making the trek, be sure to tag #dailyhivemtl with all your gorgeous fall foliage shots.
