Stand-up veterans Jason Celin, Ben Cardilli, Oren Shbiro, and Monica Hamburg will open for the very funny Mart Brennan.

The show is pay-what-you-can, so settle in for some midweek laughs at one of Montreal’s most extensive gin bars.

McKibbin’s Irish Pub Hooley Night

McKibbin’s Irish Pub hosts their “Hooley Night” tonight on their third-floor dance club.

Ladies pay $10 at the door, gentlemen pay $25 and then it’s an open bar, all you can drink.

The deal includes  Moosehead beer, vodka, gin, rum, rye, and whiskey. There’s a dance floor and a DJ and the night usually tends to get pretty busy.

If you’re looking for a midweek drinking and dancing getaway, it’s tough to beat McKibbin’s on Wednesdays.

Time: 10 pm – 2 am
Where: 1426 Rue Bishop
Price: $10 for girls, $25 for guys

Egyptian Mummies: Exploring Ancient Lives

A handful of mummies have cozied up to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts for a few months.

The exhibition, Egyptian Mummies: Exploring Ancient Lives, will be the mummies’ first North American exposition, following “tremendous success in Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan,” according to the MMFA.

As per the press release, the British Museum has reconstructed the lives of six individuals who lived along the Nile from about 900 BC to AD 180.

On Wednesdays, the MMFA offers $12 admission and extended hours.

If one of them gets up and starts haunting you, however, that’s NOT part of the exhibition.

When: From now until February 2
Time: 10 am – 9 pm
Where: Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, 380, Sherbrooke Street O,
Price: $12, available online
