As the new month’s first full workweek reached the midway point, here are a few things worth checking out across Montreal today, March 4.

Imagine Van Gogh

What: Montreal has been coated with an exhibition of the works of Vincent Van Gogh, the Dutch post-impressionist painter who is among the most famous figures in the history of the art world.

The exhibition, recently extended through April, takes guests through the world of colours and emotions of Van Gogh’s works through gigantic murals and immersive soundtrack.

The Simpsons Trivia

What: It seems like all those hours, days, and even years of binging on The Simpsons can finally come in handy as The Lockhart bar is hosting another edition of Simpsons-based trivia.

Teams are asked to form in groups of no more than 8 and after three rounds, the team with the most points win a $100 gift card to The Lockhart.

Disney on Ice

What: Mickey, Minnie, and a slew of other Disney characters are hitting the ice in Laval tonight.

See stars from Mary Poppins Returns, Moana, Frozen, The Lion King, Incredibles 2, Aladdin, Toy Story 4, and your favourite Disney Princesses, Donald, and Goofy for a “fun-filled getaway jam-packed with unexpected hijinks.”

The Incas, Treasures of Peru

What: Going on an Old Montreal adventure? Alpaca lunch.

For the third year in a row, the Pointe-à-Callière museum in Old Montreal will be hosting a range of indoor and outdoor activities during the first week of March including creative workshops, history, musical performances, and the chance to meet and pet alpacas.

The alpacas are part of the museum’s “The Incas, Treasures of Peru” exhibition, which showcases the beauty, history, and stories of the Inca civilization, which rose from the Peruvian highlands in the early 13th century.

McKibbin’s Irish Pub Hooley Night

What: McKibbin’s Irish Pub hosts their “Hooley Night” tonight on their third-floor dance club.

Ladies pay $10 at the door, gentlemen pay $25 and then it’s an open bar, all you can drink.

The deal includes  Moosehead beer, vodka, gin, rum, rye, and whiskey. There’s a dance floor and a DJ and the night usually tends to get pretty busy.

If you’re looking for a midweek drinking and dancing getaway, it’s tough to beat McKibbin’s on Wednesdays.
