The weather may say otherwise, but today, June 20 is officially the last day of spring. Montreal is hot and sunny and there’s a bunch of fun things happening around our beautiful city for you to check out.

Smash Mini-Tennis

Smash is one of the few facilities in Quebec and the only of its kind in Montreal, where children have access to equipment and tennis courts built specifically to their size.

It’s mini-tennis court so kids can hone their skills without having to deal with adult dimensions.

It’s open to everybody from any (or no) tennis background.

Shane Murphy at Honey Martin Pub 

Shane Murphy is one of the best musicians in Montreal. He’s appeared at Jazz Fest and Osheaga and does his regular Wednesday gig every week at Honey Pub in NDG. He’s silky smooth on the guitar and has a soothing and hip voice. He plays covers and original pieces, considering it’s free entrance to watch him – it’s an absolute steal.

Time: Honey Martin Pub opens at 3 pm, Shane Murphy starts at 10 pm and goes until 3 am

McKibbin’s Irish Pub Hooley Night

McKibbin’s Irish Pub hosts their “Hooley Night” every Wednesday on their floor. Ladies pay $10 at the door, gentlemen pay $25 and then it’s an open bar, all you can drink. The bar offers Moosehead beer, vodka, gin, rum, rye and whiskey as part of the special. The third floor features a dance floor and a DJ.

Clock Tower Beach

Clock Tower Beach is found just a short distance from the historical district of the Old Port. The urban beach offers a vacation atmosphere with its fine sand, chairs, parasols and refreshing mist.

The Comedy Lab

Every Wednesday the Comedy Nest hosts their Comedy Lab. It’s a chance to check out pros and semi-pros experimenting a research centre for new jokes. All comedians are given a common theme and they have to write an original joke about it on the spot. At the end of the show, a comedian is crowned a winner as voted by the audience.
