Happening Gourmand

Nine gourmet restaurants in the Old Port are taking part in the 13th edition of Happening Gourmand, a food festival where foodies can knock back some delicious brunch and dinner meals for under $40.

Whether you’re into pizza, steak, eggs benedict, or burgers, Happening Gourmand offers gourmet meals and a vibrant atmosphere for every food lover. Plus, the meals won’t set you back too much (we’re dreading the post-holiday credit card statements too).

Battle of Wits: A Comedy Quiz Show

Battle of Wits, the fast-paced fusion of a comedy show and a quiz show returns to The Diving Bell Social Club tonight.

Hosted by local comedian Elspeth Wright, contestants will be asked to answer trivia questions and compete in skill testing games for prizes.

Plus,  Monica Hamburg, John Cotrocois, Mason Terry, and Jason Grimmer will be on site performing stand up.

Bread-Making Class

What’s better than homemade bread?

From white bread to traditional Indian naan bread, this three-hour workshop will give bakers all the ingredients and tips to making bread from home.

A glass of wine is included in the $80 workshop and you get to obviously bring your beautiful creations home.

McKibbin’s Irish Pub Hooley Night

McKibbin’s Irish Pub hosts their “Hooley Night” tonight on their third-floor dance club.

Ladies pay $10 at the door, gentlemen pay $25 and then it’s an open bar, all you can drink.

The deal includes  Moosehead beer, vodka, gin, rum, rye, and whiskey. There’s a dance floor and a DJ and the night usually tends to get pretty busy.

If you’re looking for a midweek drinking and dancing getaway, it’s tough to beat McKibbin’s on Wednesdays.

Imagine Van Gogh

Montreal has been coated with an exhibition of the works of Vincent Van Gogh, the Dutch post-impressionist painter who is among the most famous figures in the history of the art world.

The exhibition, Imagine Van Gogh, which opened last month, takes guests through the world of colours and emotions of Van Gogh’s works through gigantic murals and an immersive soundtrack.
