Whoa, Wednesday snuck up on us quickly. We’re happy it’s here and there’s a lot of fun stuff going on in Montreal today, August 22.

From a crazy workout to some soulful jazz music, here’s what’s happening as we set our sights on the latter half of the week.

Elmnt Studio Hiit Class

Why don’t you get sweaty before the weekend hits?

Monkland’s Elmnt Studio is hosting a free high-intensity interval training class at Girouard Park tonight. The workout class is run by personal trainers Valerie Poynter and George Dawson.

Elmnt doesn’t mess around and will have you sweating.

Snooksta and the Gangstas

Snooksta and the Gangstas is a local jazz band that also plays funk, soul, R&B and blues style tunes. They’re at the Montreal House of Jazz tonight if you want to add some kick to your midweek.

Fashion & Design Festival

The Fashion & Design Festival celebrates creativity and culture through a major outdoor event in the heart of Montreal’s theatre district. The daily activities include fashion shows, live creative sessions, design showcasing and musical performances. The Fashion & Design Festival’s presence will also be felt around the city with novel exhibits, original installations and unique experiences open to all.

Cavalia’s Odysseo

Cavalia is a massive Canadian-owned company that specializes in live shows mixing equestrian performances with theatre, acrobatics and stagecraft.

Since 2003, the event has travelled to perform in front of more than 8 million spectators worldwide throughout over 70 destinations including North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East.

Renowned for being hosted at the world’s largest big-top tent, the spectacle returns to Rue St. Catherine tonight, right at the foot of the Jacques Cartier Bridge with over 70 horses.

Vintage Cars at the Orange Julep

The Orange Julep is quite possibly Montreal’s most iconic restaurant. The roadside snack-bar has been around since 1932 and everybody in Montreal knows about it, regardless of how old you are.

This summer, like the summer before and the summer before that, the Orange Julep hosts vintage cars and motorcycles in its parking lot every Wednesday.
