The smoke has settled since the long Canada Day weekend and it’s back to the workweek. As per usual, there are plenty of fun things to do in Montreal today, July 3.

Ben Harper & Charlie Musselwhite at Jazz Fest

The American singer/songwriter, Ben Harper has teamed up with living blues legend and harmonica wizard, Charlie Musselwhite for this year’s Jazz Fest. The two blues brothers fuse their folk, soul, and reggae in forming a savvy blend of electric and acoustic blues.

Recycle Cycle

Recycle Cycle is the ideal spot in Montreal if you’re looking to buy a used bike or repair/alter an old one. The staff is remarkably knowledgeable about everything that has to do with bikes and they’re very friendly too. Montreal is currently boasting perfect bike-riding weather so it may be time to consider some inexpensive two-wheel transport for the summer.

Aura Basilique Montreal

The Notre Dame Basilica has teamed up with Moment Factory’s Multimedia & Entertainment Studio to light up the historic building in Montreal until the end of the year. The immersive showcase features lights and sounds to show off one of Montreal’s most oft viewed pieces of architecture.

Honey Martin Trivia

Honey Martin is a cozy Irish Pub in NDG that hosts a phenomenal pub trivia. They do six rounds of ten questions. A winner is rewarded each round with either a round of drinks or a round of shots. A round for a round – great deal. The questions are all general knowledge and the trivia host is interactive and humorous. Buy him a shot and he’ll go easy on you.

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts at Place Bell

There’s just so much music happening around Montreal!

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts are currently on a massive worldwide tour with Styx and special guest Tesla the Band. They’re rockin’ out at Place Bell tonight and considering the power of this band, tickets are reasonably priced for general admission.
