A mesmerizing light show is happening at Montreal's Notre Dame Basilica

The Notre Dame Basilica is already one of Montreal’s most popular and beautiful sights.

With the help of Moment Factory’s Multimedia and Entertainment Studio, the basilica is about to get even more spectacular as it transforms into AURA.

From now until the end of the 2018 year, the AURA show will happen regularly in an immersive and brilliant showcase of Montreal’s most historic and architectural stunning spots.

“The Notre-Dame Basilica transcends time and remains a cornerstone of our city, our history and our culture. With the AURA experience, we are pleased to be able to celebrate the Basilica’s historical heritage and to affirm its openness to the world,” said Manon Blanchette, President of the Fabrique de la Paroisse Notre-Dame of Montreal, through the Moment Factory website.

The showcase is a two-part multimedia journey that features both music and special lighting effects. The first part is a thematic route followed by a multimedia experience.

Weekdays in May feature a 6 pm showing and Fridays offer a 6 pm and an 8 pm listing. AURA is offered twice-daily from June 1 to December 29, excluding Sundays and most Mondays.

The presentation lasts for 45 minutes and AURA advises its participants to show up 15 minutes early as the show does not admit latecomers.

The full schedule is available on AURA’s website.
